Alice Peterson is the Founder and President of Syrus Global. |
As chair of a public company audit committee during a period when corporate financial scandals filled the headlines of every major newspaper, Ms. Peterson led an exhaustive search for resources to support transparency and ethical decision-making. Unsatisfied with the choices for quality solutions, in 2002, she launched Listen Up™ ethics reporting and helpline services. In 2005, the company launched Rules + Values™ ethics education and confidential exit interviews.
Ms. Peterson has held senior operating, strategy, and finance roles at Sears, Kraft and PepsiCo. She currently serves as a director on both public company boards and not-for-profit institutions including: Hanesbrands, Williams Partners, RIM Finance (a wholly owned unit of Research in Motion, maker of the BlackBerry™ handheld), Ravinia Festival (summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra), and the Music Arts School of Highland Park, Illinois.
Ms. Peterson is a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Business & Professional Ethics at DePaul University and writes and speaks frequently on topics related to corporate governance. She is also a member of The Chicago Network, The Economic Club of Chicago, and other civic and business organizations in and around Chicago.
She holds an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, and a B.A. from the University of Louisville.
